Tool Design
Precision tooling built in-house, at competitive pricing
QTS has a fully staffed tool room where all of the dies are built with complete in house tool making capabilities. Producing tooling in-house offers customers a number of benefits:
- Cost savings – in-house tool production is less costly than outsourcing to a tool-and-die shop
- Quality – tooling is designed and built to standards that ensure long tool life
- Efficiency – by working with customers directly, changes can be made quickly without compromising production requirements
- Fast turnarounds – the lead-time to produce a tool is much shorter than that of outside sources
QTS has also doubled its EDM capacity by adding a Charmilles Robofil 510P. The 510P handles large work-pieces measuring up to 27" L x 16" W x 16" H. Using this CNC-controlled machine alongside the previous model, the Charmilles Robofil 290, QTS can build precision tooling at a very competitive price.
